Description of the project:
In this papermetrics project, a pavilion using non-repeating triangular facets was designed to exhibit a meaningful, exciting and optimistic interactive experience while constructing a unique journey according to sunpaths, weather and seasons in Manchester. The integration of transparent and opaque facets was intended to enhance interior lighting quality and shadow patterns while generating a strong contrast of the internal material and atmosphere against the external environmental conditions.

The design also carefully appeals to the use of shadow patterns and lighting qualities to manipulate occupants circulation path and social geometry. Collectively, the reflective interior of the design through creative use of materials is most unique as it can create an interior that fabricates a bizarre sensation while generating an optimistic, festive and jubilant emotional response. Furthermore, this project also takes material sustainability into consideration which includes the installation process, durability and recyclability.
